Are you more of a smiling person or more of a serious/frowning person?
I am more of a serious person. They say I have a very strict face. And they are correct!
And makes me wonder - do people want to be with a smiling person or with a serious/frowning person?
I realised, if I don’t smile, people will be afraid of me.
When I was in Grade 4, my Science teacher once told me that it takes only 17 muscles to smile while 43 to frown.
When I heard that, I asked myself, “How they counted the muscles?” I really don’t know how they counted it but I think my teacher is telling the truth.
Because when I smile, I feel only a few muscles are being used👍 That's very efficient use of my energy and the effect is positive to me and the people around me⚡
But when I frown, I feel a lot of my facial muscles are collaborating to make me frown - more energy is expended - hence makes me feel tired😮💨. Very inefficient use of my energy and the output is negative to me and the people around me☹️
I noticed it is not just the facial muscles that are performing when I frown, it includes my heart ❤️ My heart becomes heavy like rock 🪨
Try it yourself, if you frown, you feel your heart becomes heavy. If you smile, you feel better.
When you feel better, people who are looking at you would also feel better. It is like you are transferring your positive energy to everyone who sees you.
If you are like me, don’t worry. SMILE 😊
When you smile, people around you would feel something wonderful has happened to you and they will be drawn more to you.
Maybe they are carrying some heavy burden and when they see you, they would feel there is still hope - in that way, you are “helping” them lighten up their burden.
If you are single and you are always frowning, maybe that’s the reason why you are still single😅. Maybe this time, you smile more😜
If your family relationship needs mending, maybe you need to smile more.☺️
If you don’t like your neighbour because they don’t talk to you, maybe you need to smile more. And infect them with your smile👌
The world is full of problems. SMILING is the best antidote to the world’s problems.
It’s not easy for me to smile, especially that I don’t have nice set of teeth.🤣
But one day, more than 10 years ago, I attended a talk. And the speaker drew this 👇 on the whiteboard.
He said:
If we frown, and God showers us with “Blessings”, we won’t be able to catch any of it.
But, if we smile, and God pours His “Blessings”, we will be able to receive ALL the blessings!
It was an awakening for me!
Since then, no matter how challenging life can be, even if I don’t have nice set of teeth, I make a conscious effort to smile - maybe one day, God would pour “blessings” upon me, then I would be able to catch them 😊
