Continuing from my previous post that you can be 37.78x better just by improving 1% per day for 365 days, you might ask, “Where do I even begin?”
I think the right question is “Why do you want to be better?”
What I would suggest is you spend some quiet time alone. Maybe in your bedroom, or at a park, at church. Somewhere you can feel at peace.
Do some reflection, and FIND YOUR WHY?
Because they say when you know the WHY, the HOW will follow!
For me, finding the WHY is very crucial because committing to personal development is not easy. One day, you will struggle, difficulties will arise and if you don’t know your WHY, you will easily give up!
Figure out YOUR WHY. And to do this, you need a lot of reflection, quiet time for yourself.
This gives you more time to process more about what’s happening in your life.
Steve Jobs, the co-founder of Apple, he travelled to India in search of spiritual enlightenment. In the book Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson, Isaacson writes:
"The trip to India was a turning point in Jobs's life. He came back with a new sense of purpose and a new understanding of himself. He was no longer the rebellious teenager who had dropped out of college. He was now a seeker of truth who was determined to make a difference in the world."
I also did some searching. And I always do some reflections.
Occasionally, I just take long walks from home to a more distant coffee shops or foodcourt. Or to a coffee shop that I haven’t been. Order some coffee, sit down and just observe the surroundings.
I also take long walks from home to church. And spend time in church, asking, praying for enlightenment.
So ask yourself, “Why do you want to be better?” #3
