Useful tips to get along with Leaders
If you are a Promoter:
You are both direct, so talk as fast as you normally do.Ā Leaders can keep up with you!
Get to business, donāt beat around the bush!
No family pics, no chitchat, no relationships, no hugs!
Get to theĀ bottom line.
You both have strong personalities.Ā Avoid confrontation.
Leaders are efficient, competent.Ā You be the same way, even if it kills you!
Lay out optionsĀ andĀ buckle up for a fast decision.
Then get out of their way and watch them lead!
If you are a Thinker:
Stick to business.
Speed up.Ā Get to the point.
Show more confidence in your body language and voice.
Do not become intimidated or hostile.
Stick to the high points.Ā Avoid detail.
Show the benefits, give options for THEIR decisions.
Let them lead, they are leaders
If you are a Nurturer:
Leaders are the exact opposite of you and will require your biggest adaptation.
Speed up and get to the point.
Stick to business and get to the bottom line.
Make your point quickly and move on.
Give a firm handshake, but no other touching, and definitely ā¦
NO HUGS!
No family talk and noĀ pics
Be concise and businesslike.
Give them options so they feel like THEY are in control of the decisions.
Donāt take rudeness personally.Ā TheyĀ donāt mean it, and itāsĀ just their way.
Increase eye contact.
Put moreĀ confidence in your voice.Ā If you speak normally, they will treat you like a dummy.
Occasionally challenge, but donāt argue with the lions.Ā They love to chew you up and spit you out as a fresh victim.
Lions only respect other lions.Ā Do not become lunch!
Outline clearly how they can reach their goals.
Provide options, not opinions.Ā If they want your opinion, they will give it to you.
Leaders make the fastest decisions
Get out of their way, and let them go!
