We all get tired because we are all humans - we are not robots.
If you don't take care of yourself, you're prone to burnout.
Have you experienced this before? A lot of us just focus on work work work, sacrificing our health to get a bit of wealth, and in the end we sacrifice our wealth to bring back our health.
I have experienced burnout many times. And for many years, I have been looking for ways to reduce burnout until one day, I came across Pomodoro technique.
"Pomodoro" is the Italian word for "tomato". The Pomodoro Technique, developed by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s, is named after the tomato-shaped kitchen timer that he initially used to track his work intervals. The method involves breaking your work into intervals, traditionally 25 minutes in length, separated by short breaks. The tomato timer served as a simple and effective tool to help people manage their time and improve productivity.
Work for 25 Minutes: Choose a task and focus on it for 25 minutes.
Take a 5-Minute Break: When the timer rings, take a short break.
Repeat: Repeat this cycle. After four cycles, take a longer break.
This technique is very easy to follow all you need is just your cell phone for you to time yourself.
When I was younger, I used to believe that I have to focus for long hours of work or study, so that I will be productive.
But as time went by, I realise I wasn't getting productive. In fact it took me very long time to finish a simple task.
But after I tried Pomodoro technique, I realised I can finish work faster and still have extra energy to do other stuff.
So why don't you give it a try?
